Architectural Graphics by Whitewater Print Co.

Transform spaces into branded experiences.

The built environment is one of the most powerful brand canvases available, and most organizations barely use it. We help brands transform empty walls, windows, floors, and facades into immersive experiences that reinforce identity, inspire employees, and impress visitors.

The Challenge

Interior spaces carry massive brand potential that most organizations ignore. Blank walls and unbranded windows communicate nothing. In competitive markets, the physical environment is part of the experience. Large-scale architectural graphics demand real expertise too. Multi-story murals need precise seaming and alignment. Window graphics require exact coverage calculations. Floor graphics must handle foot traffic and slip resistance.

Most sign shops aren't equipped for this. Coordinating across renovations or multi-site rollouts, hitting construction timelines and brand standards simultaneously, takes a partner with both production capacity and installation expertise.

Our Approach

We handle architectural graphics end-to-end. We visit your site (or conduct detailed surveys) to understand the space, surfaces, and brand goals. Our design team scales artwork precisely for each application. Our installers apply graphics to any architectural surface — drywall, glass, concrete, brick, polished stone — using adhesives matched to each substrate to maximize adhesion and ensure clean removal.

For large projects like multi-story murals or multi-site rollouts, we develop detailed installation plans with panel sequencing and seam placement. Every project meets a written standard: no bubbles, no misaligned seams, no peeling edges.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long do wall murals and architectural graphics last?

Interior wall murals typically last 5–10 years under normal conditions. Longevity depends on the substrate (smooth painted surfaces last longer than textured ones), foot traffic proximity (wall graphics near high-contact areas may show wear sooner), and whether the space is climate-controlled. We use premium cast vinyl with protective overlaminate to maximize durability.

Can architectural graphics be removed without damaging walls or surfaces?

Yes — this is one of the primary advantages of vinyl graphics over painted murals. We select adhesive systems specifically matched to each substrate to ensure clean removal. When installed on properly prepared surfaces (clean, fully cured paint), quality cast vinyl can be removed without tearing or leaving adhesive residue. We always recommend testing a small area on unusual or historic surfaces before full installation.

What surfaces can you apply architectural graphics to?

We can apply graphics to painted drywall, glass (interior and exterior), polished concrete, brick, stone, ceramic tile, polished metal, wood, and most other architectural surfaces. Each surface requires a different adhesive chemistry and installation technique. Highly textured surfaces like raw brick may require specialty air-egress films for proper adhesion. We assess every surface during the consultation phase.

How do you handle large multi-story murals?

Multi-story murals are divided into panels that are precisely sized to minimize visible seams and align perfectly when installed. We work with structural engineering data when lift equipment is required and develop detailed panel maps before installation begins. Our installers are experienced with lifts and scaffolding for high installations. Seams are placed strategically within design elements to minimize visibility.

What's the typical lead time for an architectural graphics project?

Lead times depend on project scope. Small single-room installations (1–3 walls) can typically be completed in 2–3 weeks from design approval to installation. Large multi-room or multi-site projects are planned on a project-by-project basis. We recommend engaging us as early as possible in construction or renovation timelines to ensure we can accommodate your schedule.

Can you match brand colors exactly for architectural graphics?

Yes. We use calibrated wide-format printing with color profiles matched to your brand standards. For Pantone-specified brand colors, we use ICC profiles and print-to-proof workflows to hit specified values as closely as possible on the target substrate. We provide physical proofs for color-critical applications before proceeding with full production.

What's the difference between architectural film, vinyl wall graphics, and custom printed wallpaper?

Architectural film (products like 3M DI-NOC) is a thin, self-adhesive coating designed for hard surfaces: glass, doors, window frames, furniture, and metal fixtures. It's not a wall product. It changes the look of whatever surface it's applied to and can add privacy, UV protection, or a decorative finish. Common uses include frosted or patterned window films, surface refinishing on doors and cabinetry, and decorative accents on architectural elements.

Vinyl wall graphics are printed or cut adhesive vinyl applied directly to painted walls. They work well for logos, branded messaging, and smaller decorative applications. Installation is relatively straightforward and the graphics can be removed or replaced without major disruption. The limitation is large-scale coverage: standard vinyl can show seams across wide wall runs and may not adhere well to heavily textured surfaces.

Custom printed wallpaper uses commercial-grade wallcovering substrates that are digitally printed with any image, pattern, or design. Products like DreamScape by Roysons are engineered specifically for large-format printing and built to handle the wear of commercial environments. They come in a range of finishes including matte, textured, metallic, and specialty effects. Unlike vinyl graphics, commercial wallcovering is designed to cover entire walls seamlessly, disguise imperfections in the underlying surface, and hold up for years in high-traffic spaces like hotels, retail stores, and corporate offices.
